Memories of My Mom
Rocking in the old rocking chair together, walking to church together to the old 8th ward, Pioneer Park, lots of wonderful dinners-I loved our Sunday dinners! One Sunday we had a pheasant that crashed into our dining room window and broke it's neck right while we were eating, instead of eating him, mom had dad bury him in our garden and we gave him an honorable funeral! Helping mom in the vegetable garden, swinging together on the front porch swing, naps under the big tree in the back yard, planting flowers & trees together, decorating for Christmas, caroling and delivering gifts to friends and neighbors, pj's and Mexican food or Clam Chowder on Christmas Eve with waffles in the morning on Christmas day. Volunteering at Festival of Trees, PTA Carnivals, and Field Day, seeing you there to support me in my plays, concerts, recitals, and track meets, flying kites, swimming down at the old A.F. pool in the summertime, lunch at Turtle Reams in Provo (so sad they tore it down!), music in Provo park, girls camps & youth conferences together (tents that blew away and monsoons at Mary Ellen Gulch...campfires and horseback riding at Carlisle Ranch), The many dresses she made for me (staying up late to get them done for high school dances), teaching me to drive in A.F. cemetery, picnics in A.F. canyon, late night talks and treats, beautiful birthday cards, letters of encouragement & care packages on my mission, being in the Manti, Bountiful, and Salt Lake Temples together on my endowment day, wedding day, and when my children were sealed to me (including the pretty temple clothes she gave me along with pearl earrings), going on many shopping trips together , my favorite red cowboy boots and other fun things you brought home for me when you and dad would go on trips together, drives together down to Ephraim when I was going to school at Snow College with Grandpa in the red Lumina...our shakes & picadilly ritual at the Malt Shop. We have laughed and cried along life's journey together...you are so talented, so giving, so unselfish, so humble, so thoughtful, so fun, and so beautiful inside and out. You have brought so much joy and happiness into my life Mom! Your grandchildren adore you, and so do I. We love you WITH ALL OUR HEARTS!
