On Sunday, March 6, 2011, Toby's mother Jeannie collapsed while getting ready for church. She was rushed to Davis Hospital and was stabilized, but then a blood clot to the lung and a failing heart caused her to seizure and she was taken from us in an instant. She was called home to our Heavenly Father and is now our beautiful, loving, angel who is watching over us from heaven. We are very sad and heartbroken, she was only 63 and we still had so many adventures to look forward to, but we know she will be with us always. We are grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the resurrection that gives us peace and hope that we will see her again.
We will miss her more than words can describe. We will miss her smile, the twinkle in her eye, her laugh, her hugs and kisses, her teasing, her example of love and service, and all the many fun times we have shared together. We will cherish all the memories we made with her. We love you forever Grandma Jeannie!
I found this lovely quote about the sunflower that also describes Jeannie so well.
"According to legend, this common but beautiful flower follows the sun from the early hours until it reaches its zenith, ever constant and steadfast through the long afternoon, and, as the sun declines, follows it until it finally disappears into the horizon."
Jeannie loved gardening and flowers, she was also a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers and her DUP group was called the Sunflower Girls. I was always telling her how I wanted to be adopted into the group because they did so many fun things.
