Wilson A. Bentley
The Snowflake Man
"Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design and no one design was ever repeated. When a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind."
(Wilson A. Bentley)
If you haven’t read the book “Snowflake Bentley” it’s a good one to add to your collection. It’s one of my favorites to read with my kids in the winter time. I took his observation and related snowflakes to people. Like snowflakes, we are all miracles of beauty. As we look more closely at ourselves and others we can find a masterpiece of design that is unique in all God’s children. No design is repeated. But unlike snowflakes, we can leave a lasting mark and influence on those to follow. What record will you leave behind?
(Next time you watch falling snow, give it a thought)
